Physical Beauty Has Become One Of Major †Myassignmenthelp.Com

Question: Discuss About The Physical Beauty Has Become One Of Major? Answer: Introducation A beauty myth written by Naomi Wolf is a novel which shows how the women of todays world have to run behind the physical beauty and how the physical beauty has become one of the major and important factors in the women of the world. Every woman has to see that she looks physically beautiful and attractive so as to be accepted by the society and so that she is liked, respected and achieve love and attention by the people of the world. Physical beauty has over passed everything and everyone just focuses on the external attributes and no one is bothered to see or shape the inner self of a person. The book shows that how women are assaulted in five areas because of the beauty myth. The five areas are- work, religion, sex, violence and hunge(Wolf, 2015)r. Because of the beauty myth the women are forced into various objectionable things such as pornography which has developed by leaps and bounds as the women are under the dilemma of looking beautiful. The book also mentions that the western middle aged women are the most affected by this beauty myth. The middle aged women are the most targeted group who are under this thinking of being under the beauty myth(Wolf, The Beauty Myth: How Images of Beauty are Used Against Women, 2013). The novel also criticizes that how the fashion industry and the makeup industry has exploited women. The fashion and makeup industry has restricted beauty to the perfect looks and the best curves which have made the darker and the fatter women think about themselves in bad light. These industries have exploited the women and have shown that the beauty of a woman is restricted to the outer and external appearance. The book also mentions that how in the society the male dominance persists. Because of the male dominance, and the woman trying to impress the men, who just go on the external beauty, the definition of the beauty is restricted to external appearance(Wold, 2009). The crux of this novel is to show that how with the time the definition of the beauty has changed among the masses. The dark skinned woman, the ones having fuller bodies, who are not so good in appearance, are not considered beautiful. They are subject to unfair and harsh treatment in many places. In the current scenario, the people need to change their outlook as well as broaden their horizon towards the definition of the word beautiful(Wolf, Promiscuities: An Opinionated History of Female Desire, 2011).
